MySQL database backup for dummys

If you have a MySQL database somewhere you obviously need to back it up, now I am not much into the inner workings of a MySQL database and have limited access to my hosted services, however I managed to find a link to a utility you can use ‘offsite’, its called “MySQL Administrator 1.2” dooh 😉 Anyhow, you can get it from here; http://www.mysql.com/ (you may need to do some digging as versions change and I thus not can provide a permanent download link). Netlydbog.dk (Danish Audiobooks)

A Danish interest post..

www.netlydbog.dk is a cool new initiative by Danish libraries, it offer the opportunity to download from a central database of Danish audiobooks, the download is limited to be playable for 30 days (via MS DRM) – but you can ‘renew’ your license at any time.

PLUS; Free, collection is growing (not fast, but its up to 250-300 books by now)

MINUS; no Ipods (solution uses WMA with DRM), but use Tunebite (thanks to Jesper for the tip) http://tunebite.com/en/remove_drm/index.html to strip the DRM and you are back in business. A somewhat limited collection, but that will change.

Cool initiative, a must see for all Danes.

Ultra portable laptops – which one?

A firestorm of new ultra small cool laptops are flodding the marked these days, I want one (who dont) but which one should I choose?

These days the answer lies just a URL away 🙂 so here is some inspiration to which model to choose.. I lean towards the Acer Aspire One, but then again there really is nothing wrong with my trusty IBM Thinkpad X31.. oh well, time will tell 🙂
